The penalties for drunk driving have made a positive impact against accidents involving alcohol. Credit for that impact can only be given to Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD). Since it’s inception in 1980, and almost devoid of assistance by similar organizations, their purpose has been to end drunk driving. Although they have come so far, there still remains a long road ahead. The Michigan Amber Alert for Shamarcus Edwards has been canceled. The mother was reunited with her 8-month-old daughter early today after the child was reported missing more than 10 hours earlier.

Police found the baby, Shamarcus Edwards, about 8 a.m. at an apartment along Prairie Parkway SW, about three blocks from her home on Taft Avenue near 28th Street.

Abduction Details: The Garland Police Department have issued an Amber Alert for 7-year-old Dakota Parker and 5-year-old Elizabeth Michelle Parker. The two children were last seen on Friday May 11th at approximately 8:30 p.m. with 36-year-old Jonathan Benjamin Taylor. The suspect is the children’s step-uncle, and he took them from his mother’s house to take them shopping Friday evening. When he failed to return with the children by Saturday morning a missing persons report was filed. Authorities and the family have tried to locate the three through family contacts and friends throughout the weekend, with no success.
